The Blue Marlin Hotel is located just 30 minutes south of
the Durban International Airport on the east coast of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.

The KwaZulu-Natal coast has a lot to offer with flying, fishing, scuba diving, golf, sailing, surfing, nature walks, arts and crafts outlets and adventure activities available all year round.

Nearby sporting facilities in Scottburgh include excellent golf courses, a bowling green, scuba diving, horse riding, squash courts and of course fishing. Parents can relax while children enjoy the thrill of the water slide and a famous miniature steam train.

Famous game reserves, beaches and mountains of the
region can all be accessed within a leisurely 3 hour drive.
The area boasts numerous golf courses and is known as
the golfing capital of South Africa.

The world renowned Aliwal Shoal, located 5km directly
offshore the hotel, offers divers incredible diving in tropical
waters under the warm African sun. It is famous for hard
and soft corals, warm and cold water reef fish, sharks, turtles, whales, rays, moray eels, sponges and most especially as the dive site where divers can safely swim with the spotted ragged tooth shark between June and November.

The mild climate has a summer rainfall and the temperatures generally fluctuate between 8-20°C in winter and 15-35°C in summer. The area is also malaria free, provides first world medical care with private hospitals a short distance away, and no cholera/typhoid immunisations are required.
